Popup from SiteKit allows you to create promotional modal popups on your site. You can customize the popups for different types of goals, such as collecting emails, driving traffic to a specific URL, or sharing coupons to generate leads and social followers. As the popup is proved to be an effective conversion booster tool, you soon will notice a huge amount of leads leap from your site.


Here is how to create a Popup with SiteKit in 8 simple steps:


Step 1: On app’s dashboard >> Popup tab >> Click Create new popup:

Step 2: Choose the Goal of your popup


  • Collect emails: Create a popup with a sign-up form to collect qualified leads for your site

  • Target a URL: Drive traffic to a specific link like a landing page or resource download link

  • Collect emails, socials with coupon: Work best for eCommerce stores. You can give away coupon codes to collect subscribers and social followers.

  • Get social shares: Grow your social media fan pages with more likes and shares

        Choose Goal


You can set up various popups serving different goals on the same website. 


Step 3: Go to the Design tab to customize the appearance of your popup: Layout, Hero image, Background and Content.


First, choose the Layouts of your popup. The default layout setup is No hero image. If you choose to show Hero image, you will be able to upload image from your device or from the Stock.

Step 4: Edit the content of your popup on Design tab.


With each goal, there will be a limit number of your content block. Overall, there are 5 types of content blocks you can add to your popup:


  • Text

  • Coupon placeholder

  • Social follows

  • Form

  • Button


You can drag and drop to change the order of the blog. Adding new blocks is available also. Just hover your mouse to a block, then choose either the options to Add block above or Add block below.

Step 5: Go to the Settings tab to change how your popup will be shown.


Choose when the popup display:


  • Immediately: Show up right when viewers land on your site.

  • Exit intent: Pop up when visitors are about to exit the page. This option is best for converting leaving visitors. 

  • X seconds delay: Appear several seconds after the visitors land on your site. 

  • After scrolling a little: Let customers read your site and scroll down a little then show the popup.

  • When visitors click button: The popup will be minimized to a small icon. It only appears when visitors click the button. If you choose this option, there is further customization for your button such as position, color, text, and icon. 



 

Edit the customer trigger:

  • All customers: Default option to show popups to all viewers.

  • New visitors only: Each new visitor can only see this coupon box within the first 24 hours they visit your store.

  • Returning visitors: Popup triggered for those who visit your site more than once within the last 30 days.



Step 6: Choose who sees your popup on Targeting tab.


By default, the popup shows up on all pages. However, if you want to set up the visibility to a specific page or a set of pages, chose “On pages I specify” and add your targeted pages.


To optimize the users’ experience, you can customize the time to display the popup again after a conversion or after visitors close the popup.



Step 7: Edit the thank you message in the Conversion tab.


Note: The conversion tab only shows up when you choose the goals to collect emails. This is what your customers see after they submit their contact information. You could edit the text to be more engaging, or just use our default message.



Step 8: Connect SiteKit with an email service provider (ESP)


Your customers’ emails could be automatically imported to the ESP you are using. Hence you are free to run an auto email campaign that converts. There are currently 9 popular ESPs connecting with SiteKit: MailChimp, Klaviyo, Get Response, Constant Contact, Aweber, Infusionsoft, Campaign Monitor, iContact, and Webhook.


However, if you don’t use any email service yet, or your ESP is not on the list, you can always import the contacts as CSV and import them later.



When all is set, click Save & Publish and your site is now ready to convert more subscribers and leads.
